About the role
This is not a typical Shipping and Receiving role. The individual will lead the handling and processing of multiple aircraft component repair jobs, including issuing parts to technicians, preparing compliance documentation, packaging, labeling, and preparing the final shipment of components. Training, technical documents, and oversight are provided by management and shop personnel.
Responsibilities
- Process aircraft components from receiving to the final shipping of parts after repair.
- Package, unpackage, part mark, and prepare items for shipment.
- Organize inventory on shelves and pull appropriate parts for required work orders.
- Receive Purchase/Repair orders and ensure proper documentation and photographing of parts.
- Manually count to verify inventory with great attention to detail.
- Document Work Orders and Pick Tickets.
- Issue, track, and inventory tooling and consumables.
- Update parts tracking in the computer using the Inventory Control Program (Quantum Control).
- Work with quality personnel to identify non-conforming parts.
- Research and track parts, update parts information and locations.
- Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
- Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
- Perform cleaning, painting, coating, pressing, and trimming of aircraft parts in accordance with instructions and training provided by Repair Station personnel.
- Correctly, concisely, and legibly fill out all company forms and reports as required by management (both written and online).
- Work with co-workers to achieve goals and objectives set by management.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external representatives, including technicians, management, and similar.
Requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings as well as a basic background check.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Two years of similar or related work experience (shipping and receiving, manufacturing, cleaning, and/or assembly line experience will be considered).
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to written procedures concisely and accurately.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Attention to detail accurately and consistently.
- Ability to lift items and packages up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while working.
- Exceptional computer skills.
- Punctual and reliable.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
