Shipping & Receiving Clerk
About the role
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk contributes to the success of the company by expediting & documenting the flow of incoming & outgoing shipments in a professional process which is efficient, accurate, & in compliance with all safety processes & hazardous material requirements. This position will focus primarily on the Greydon business, an innovative brand within ProMach's Labeling & Coding Business Line.
Responsibilities
- Assemble orders & prepare items for shipment
- Weighs or measures items of incoming & outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Determines method of shipment; Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Calculate most cost-efficient shipping
- Accurately record shipping & receiving data
- Report damages & discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement & record-keeping purposes
- Complete shipping & receiving reports
- Provide inventory management support: part numbers, balances, reports & physical inventory, cycle counts
- Routes items to individuals/departments as appropriate
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials & supplies
- Operate appropriate machinery which may include tier lift truck, hand truck, forklift, etc. to move, convey, hoist shipments to & from shipping & receiving platforms; attends mandatory training on that equipment
- Aid with building and ground maintenance
- Maintain training on & practice of proper handling of hazardous materials
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some experience with shipping, receiving, purchasing, inventory a plus
- Ability to read, write & comprehend instructions, correspondence & other information
- Mathematical skills; ability to use calculator
- Experience with MS Office, Excel & ability to perform specific shipping/receiving exercises in relevant software
- Excellent communication skills with people throughout the organization & with vendors & shippers
- Detail orientation, value accuracy
- Problem solving skills to assist associates in meeting their shipping goals
- Organization skills & ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Ability to stand for several hours at a time
- Ability to frequently lift 75 pounds

Pay
Placement within our salary range is determined based upon years of directly relatable experience for your position. These components, along with local and national compensation survey data, contribute to deciding a candidate's potential starting rate of pay.
