About the Role
Non-exempt position in the Receiving Department. Responsible for all incoming shipments, warehouse organization, data input, and preparing materials for Production. Also provides secondary Shipping support for overflow and backup.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 5 years of experience in a similar industry (e.g., warehousing, shipping/receiving, material handling)
- Warehouse experience in a similar industry preferred
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Data entry
- Forklift experience
Responsibilities
- Unload arriving shipments in accordance with ISO work instructions and all safety policies
- Check all incoming product, lot numbers, and weights against Bill of Lading and internal purchase orders; inspect for damages and record all information
- Record all small packaging receipts in the receiving log (computer log); distribute packages to appropriate person/department and turn in packing slips to Purchasing Agent
- Provide the lab with appropriate samples for incoming materials requiring quality inspection
- Enter incoming material into the appropriate database
- Print and affix inventory tags on all incoming material
- Place all received materials into designated warehouse locations daily
- Maintain the inventory quarantine area
- Weigh all unused materials from production runs and return them to their original warehouse location
- Gather, weigh, and inventory all scrap Gaylords appropriately
- Maintain accurate inventory and perform cycle counts as necessary
- Maintain an organized and clean warehouse; repair, repack, and relocate damaged inventory daily
- Communicate to leadership any gaps in achieving daily goals
