About the Role
Responsible for the overall coordination of outgoing shipments and receiving activities. This includes managing customer orders to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and methods to meet demanding on-time delivery requirements. Additionally, you will coordinate the receipt of materials, components, and supplies, verify order accuracy, and update orders in the ERP system.
Responsibilities
- Receive freezer material, supplies, component parts, MA’s, and subcontract jobs.
- Unload incoming freight and coordinate staging within the receiving department.
- Pull freezer material for kit cut/lay-up.
- Greet vendor deliveries or shipping pick-ups.
- Process packing slips and RMA’s into the ERP system.
- Perform pick-ups of materials, supplies, or components from off-site locations.
- Direct and communicate with night shift receiving and day shift shared utility help to ensure all receiving is completed within twenty-four hours of arrival.
- Maintain record-keeping on received materials.
- Ensure safety in the shipping and receiving area and complete all safety check sheets.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory tracking as needed.
- Coordinate freezer capacity constraints with purchasing.
- Assist workers in shipping and receiving activities, such as distributing incoming deliveries, preparing bills of lading, and other duties as assigned.
- Ensure orders are prepared and shipped in a timely manner to meet on-time delivery dates and analyze shipping data.
- Communicate all shipping/receiving related information to supervisors and appropriate operations team members.
- Utilize and analyze the ERP system to understand customer requirements and provide continuous improvement ideas for effective planning and manufacturing activities related to shipping.
- Process ASN in supplier portals.
- Communicate and coordinate with all operations departments on issues or conflicts impacting on-time delivery.
- Provide status updates to supervisors and relevant contacts.
- Read blueprints to follow customer specifications with extreme attention to detail.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of shipping, warehouse, and material handling operations, methods, and practices.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Certified forklift driver.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under deadline pressure.
- Mechanical aptitude.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- One to three years of shipping and/or receiving experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to operate MRP/ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience processing ASN’s and RMA’s.
Working Conditions
The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually moderate, requiring hearing protection in certain areas. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee’s position and exposure.
Schedule
Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with additional overtime hours as needed.
