About the role
Works effectively and efficiently in a warehouse environment to receive and schedule shipping and freight operations, including developing a working knowledge of warehouse organization and creating proper and detailed shipping documentation. Collaborates with the shipping and warehouse team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Packs and unpacks orders while maintaining department schedule
- Effectively uses organization systems and warehouse technology to locate and gather stock
- Creates shipping labels and handles shipping information
- Communicates with other shipping personnel about organization practices
- Maintains good customer relationships
- Keeps organized shipping records, including statements of origin, shipping costs, products shipped, and receipt dates
- Works well with the shipping and sales teams to complete orders on time
- Ensures that received goods are placed in their proper location
- Receives shipments and signs paperwork upon receipt
- Loads and unloads packages from incoming trucks
- Inspects contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Verifies packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, shipping method, etc.)
- Assumes responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Labels deliveries and allocates them to their designated place
- Ensures invoices are signed for satisfactory deliveries
- Performs other duties throughout manufacturing as required
Requirements
- Warehouse experience; picking/packing experience
- Knowledge of basic math; accuracy in counts
- Strong track record of safety performance
- Ability to take initiative and organize work independently
- Forklift/Power Jack experience
- Scanner experience
- Must be responsible, reliable, and take ownership of assigned duties
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Previous experience with safe operation of forklift
- Previous experience with building freight shipments and multiple skid orders
- Must be able to interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
- Ability to calculate mathematical values
- Knowledgeable in warehousing procedures
- Attention to detail is a must

- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Schedule
2nd shift: 3:30 pm to 12 am
