Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily communication with company driver, shipping schedule and Materials Manager to assure delivery schedules are met to customers’ requests
- Proper packaging procedures are required to be met to guarantee products will not be damaged during the shipping process
- Review and understand shipping techniques, packaging, labeling/marking and shipping requirements per customer purchase orders and specifications as applicable
- Create packing lists per company ERP system with accuracy to Job, PO Number and PO Line
- Controls and organizes the flow of items throughout the shipping department by priority and schedule per Job
- Maintain accurate weight measurements of each shipment to guarantee proper costing is incurred
- Builds wooden crates or cardboard containers are standard practices in this role
- Tubes and labels customer product
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Controls count, accuracy and allocates finished goods to inventory
- Operates forklift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping to other storage or work area
- Assists with some part assembly
