3rd Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 9:45 PM – 6:00 AM. Pay: $21.50/hour base plus 10% shift differential ($23.65/hour total).
About the role
The Shipping Operator is primarily responsible for safe, damage-free picking and loading of deck-board-only outbound customer orders and transfers. This position also maintains organization and inventory accuracy in the yard while demonstrating commitment to company values.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to accident-free operations and compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
- Operate forklift to safely load outbound shipments of finished goods onto trucks.
- Pull inventory according to pick tickets and place in staging area, annex, inside storage, or the yard.
- Record inventory location and scan with RF scanner.
- Manually write the order number on the shipment and record location on the pick ticket.
- Turn completed pick tickets into the Shipping Office.
- Inspect shipments, dunnage boards, etc. for damage and replace if necessary.
- Assist with tarping duties when requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision or management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Linde and Crown forklift certification or ability to be trained on the job.
- Strong attention to detail and reading, mathematical, and comprehension skills.
- Good communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to operate an RF scanner.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Self-directed, motivated, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
