Shipping Material Handler

Summary: Operating an electric forklift to gather, move, deliver and store materials as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Load and unload trailers, containers and the box truck · Ensure products are properly packaged, banded and wrapped for shipment · Select, stage and prepare items for shipment · Ensure accuracy of selected products, both in quantity and product code to Bill of Lading · Frequently lifting boxes weighing between 10 -30 pounds; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds · Assist with pulling Grainger orders as required · Maintain cleanliness of warehouse. · Adhere to all company and department safety requirements Education and/or Experience: Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required. 3-6 months of experience as a Material Handler preferred. Qualification Requirements: Must have a current forklift license or be able to obtain one. Must understand Inventory Process and Procedures. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, BOL/BOM, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Speak audibly, and present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
