Shipping Manager Needed in the Great State of Georgia

Location: Folkston, Georgia

Pay

$60-65k annually (based on experience)

Schedule

• Monday – Friday, 1st Shift (Flexible)
• 40 hours per week
• Ability to work overtime when needed

About the role

The Shipping Manager reports directly to the Yard Manager and is responsible for tracking and handling of materials, parts, products, and stock items. This position supports the daily operation of outgoing shipments and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Read Bill of Ladings and Shipping Reports
• Maintain consistent communication with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Oversee operations to ensure on-time delivery
• Manage and motivate load building associates and commercial drivers
• Manage all daily operations of an active lumber yard, including:
  • Scheduling inbound and outbound shipments
  • Solving customer service issues
  • Clearly communicating expectations with associates
  • Partnering with the yard manager
• Keep management aware of any delays or discrepancies with suppliers or shippers
• Track and monitor inventory status and supply usage
• Schedule yard transfers as needed
• Review vendor invoices for potential discrepancies
