Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Lead to oversee daily fulfillment operations within our warehouse. This role is responsible for coordinating order processing, supporting warehouse staff, and ensuring all shipments are completed accurately and on time in accordance with company standards. The ideal candidate has prior warehouse experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Management & Coordination:
- Assign and prioritize orders for daily fulfillment
- Communicate with the order printing team to ensure all orders are printed accurately
- Review and resolve system errors preventing order printing (e.g., allocation or replenishment issues)
- Maintain clean and accurate order queues
- Team Leadership & Workflow Oversight:
- Delegate orders and assign staff to appropriate stations for efficient operations
- Ensure employees remain at their assigned stations; proactively provide materials, retrieve items, and resolve mispicks
- Direct, train, and organize staff to meet daily fulfillment goals
- Ensure all orders are processed and packed according to company policy
- Performance & Communication:
- Identify operational issues, implement solutions, and provide constructive feedback to staff
- Communicate daily updates, timelines, and expectations to leadership
- Proactively report potential delays, staffing needs, or overtime requirements
- Maintain the goal of processing and shipping all orders received the same day
- Training & Staff Development:
- Ensure all team members are properly trained in their daily responsibilities
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to improve team performance
- Shipping & Carrier Coordination:
- Monitor carrier pickups and communicate delays to leadership in a timely manner
- Inventory & Operational Support:
- Oversee daily return management and wholesale order processing
- Ensure workstations are fully stocked with necessary materials
- Cook up with the Warehouse Manager on supply needs
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams to:
- Support daily and mass replenishment efforts
- Cookstaff for inventory receiving and inbound transfers
- Report technical issues, software needs, and equipment malfunctions
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness and maintenance standards are upheld
- Manage low-inventory processes, including transfers and replenishment coordination
- Perform weekly cycle counts of low inventory items
- Report discrepancies promptly to leadership
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience required
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- College education preferred but not required
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Clear, professional, and respectful communication skills
- Bi-Lingual Preferred
