Summary
This is a working lead position and entails supervision and coordination of activities engaged in by employees in the warehouse. Individuals will be required to fulfill the following duties and requirements, alongside employees while fostering a positive work environment.
Safety Compliance
- Model safety behaviors and ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations and standards.
- Identify safety risks and mitigate.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and motivate a team of shipping personnel to achieve daily goals and normal assignments.
- Monitor performance to ensure that it meets company standards and expectations.
Shipping/Receiving
- Lead and perform all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze traffic schedules to estimate worker hours and create schedules as needed.
- Provide an excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
Inventory Control and Accuracy
- Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee stock levels.
- Ability to request items for transfer and handle outbound transfers as well.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and lower cost.
Communication
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, other departments, and external partners via email, written, and verbal communications.
KPI Goals
- Safety: Reduce/eliminate potential for risk, while making sure employees adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Order Accuracy Rate/On-Time Shipping Rate: Helping the workers and company by diligently making sure items are shipped correctly and without errors.
- Processing Time and Shipping Cost per Order: Helping to keep an efficient shift through key indicators such as, improving on average pick ship times and what the average cost per shipment is, and how it affects overall warehouse day-to-day operations.
- Inventory Accuracy/Shrinkage Rate: Assisting in reducing inaccuracy within the warehouse and improving upon inventory accuracy. As well as improving on reduction of shrink caused by damage and other things that can be improved upon within the operations side.
- Training Completion Rate/Team Productivity: Keeping employees updated on all training. Work to improve productivity through different measures and ideas.
- Customer Satisfaction: Help Reduce/eliminate complaints related to shipping. Making sure only perfect product is leaving the facility.
Qualifications
- Education and/or experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a shipping/receiving or logistics role, with supervisory experience preferred. High School diploma or general education degree (GED); additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of manufacturing software; spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

- WMS and ERP (Oracle Preferred) experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills.

- Ability to make decisions and have good judgement.
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of shipping and receiving.
- Must be able to drive PILEN training/certification helpful.
- Comply with safety regulations.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Ability to work seasonal overtime as needed.
Physical Demands
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel or bend.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
