Shipping Coordinator

Located in Alachua, Florida, the company's Rotary Drilling Division designs and builds state-of-the-art surface mining drill rigs used globally. The role of Shipping Coordinator plays a crucial part in the highly collaborative and global process of shipping large, heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and compare freight quotes from carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
- Cook complex shipments for large, heavy equipment, including trucking, ocean freight, crane services, and specialized transport.
- Maintain alignment between shipping schedules and factory commitments.
- Work with Sales Support to understand customer requirements, Incoterms, delivery expectations, and documentation needs.
- Track shipments in transit and maintain accurate status reporting, including key milestones and delivery timelines.
- Communicate shipment updates, risks, and delays clearly and proactively to internal stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks such as scheduling conflicts, port congestion, or equipment constraints.
- Collaborate with internal teams during high-volume periods to meet shipping commitments.
- Ensure timely preparation and coordination of shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Understanding of Incoterms and their impact on shipping responsibility and risk.
- Familiarity with logistics requirements for heavy or oversized equipment.
- Working knowledge of shipping documentation, including export and freight documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and escalate risks early.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across teams and regions.
