Shipping Coordinator

About the Role

This role supports both our customer service and warehouse teams and is an integral part of our shipping staff. Under the direction of the Shipping Manager, this position coordinates all outbound shipping for LTL, Freight, and non-LTL orders to meet customer delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

• Schedule shipments and manage the outbound shipping schedule.
• Work with carrier partners and internal team members to understand freight urgency, resolve issues, and ensure top-tier service and performance.
• Seek out rate quotes with shipping vendors and logistics companies to procure the best service and price possible.
• Maintain and update all shipping records.
• Prepare documents such as bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials.
• Collaborate with the Customer Service team and supervisors to coordinate special shipments and rush orders.
• Contact common carriers and schedule pick-ups, ensuring customer delivery requirements are met.
• Track inventory and report any shortages to Customer Service for further disposition.
• Complete shipper’s declared HAZ-MAT paperwork online.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, shipping documents, and labels corresponding to shipping needs.
• Document and handle the claim process for products damaged during shipping; track and report on all shipping claims.
• Notify customers when product is ready, assist with tracking their shipments, and/or confirm pickup orders.
• Assist truck drivers with their required paperwork.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties as directed by the Shipping Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Experience working in a warehouse and/or shipping environment.

Skills

• Strong general computer skills and ability to work with vendors online and use their custom shipping software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Self-driven, high-energy individual with the ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
