Job Summary
The Shipping Coordinator will ship items in the system and, when necessary, assist in the Warehouse.Responsibilities
- Replaces damaged items and shortages or obtains credit by informing shipper and transporter of damage or shortage; returning damaged items; requesting new items or credit for shortages.
- Packages, protects, and labels shipments.
- Determines shipment methods based on item examination, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment.
- Safely loads and secures items for shipment.
- Documents shipped items by recording identifying information and transport details.
- Generates freight quotes for the sales team.
- Verifies quantities shipped against sales orders.
- Assembles shipping packets including packing lists, bills of lading, and labels.
- Performs other clerical duties as needed.
Required Skills & Capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Customer service skills displaying empathy for both internal and external customers
- Strong organizational skills with emphasis on attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of Warehouse procedures and policies
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- 2+ years of logistics experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Physical Requirements
- Capable of accessing all areas of the facility
- Must be able to stretch, squat, and reach to access various spaces and shelving units
- Must be able to work in cold and hot temperatures in the Warehouse
