Primary Job Responsibilities
- Cook up and oversee all outbound shipments, including order prioritization, carrier selection, scheduling, and documentation
- Act as the central hub for shipping-related communications across Operations, Service, Sales, Customer Service, and external carriers. Ensure all shipments (orders, RMAs, transfers, and project-related materials) are processed accurately and meet required deadlines. Monitor shipment status, proactively resolve delays or discrepancies, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
- Check and validate shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and international shipping paperwork. Make sure to comply with domestic and international shipping regulations, including customs and hazardous materials requirements when applicable.
- Spot and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, cut down errors, and lower shipping costs. Support and coordinate inbound shipments as needed, including receiving, verification, and system updates.
Maintain Accurate Records
- Keep track of shipping and inventory records in systems like NetSuite, IntelliTrack, and related ERP/WMS platforms
Training and Support
- Lead training efforts, including onboarding new team members and reinforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the team
- Partner with the Warehouse Manager to set and enforce shipping SOPs, quality standards, and safety protocols. Assist in inventory management activities, including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies. Coordinate ordering and management of shipping supplies, materials, and packaging standards. Provide support for large-scale or multi-site deployment projects, ensuring logistics alignment and execution.
Job Competencies, Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of shipping, logistics coordination, and warehouse operations
- Experience managing outbound shipment processes, including carrier coordination and documentation
- Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve shipping and logistics issues independently
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., NetSuite, IntelliTrack, or similar platforms)
- Effective communication and coordination skills across cross-functional teams
- Ability to train others and reinforce standardized processes
Environment and Normal Working Conditions
- A warehouse and office environment at the main Greensboro location
- Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; however, this position may require flexibility, including work outside of normal business hours, based on operational demands and shipment schedules.
- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a warehouse and office setting, including communicating, seeing, and hearing to exchange information, and using a computer. Activities may include standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, as well as occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 25 pounds. Repetitive hand movement for operating equipment and systems is required.
