SHIPPING COORDINATOR

About the role

This position is responsible for the accurate weighing of all linen received from and sent back to clients, entering data for soiled and/or clean linen into the system, monitoring the soil section, and helping maintain consistent workflow on the production floor. The role also involves assisting with keeping the Soil area clean.

Responsibilities

• Proper weighing of clean and soiled linen.
• Keeping the weighing area clean.
• Data entry of linen pounds into a data program.
• Proper entry of client numbers into the system.
• Staging carts within the production floor.
• Assisting in maintaining a good workflow on the production floor.
• Helping drivers with bin carts when assigned by management.
• Assisting supervisors as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Two years of experience preferably in a commercial laundry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Superior attention to detail.
• Results-oriented, with effective problem-solving and reasoning ability.
• Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with all levels and cultures in written, verbal, and presentation formats, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Working Conditions

• Primarily inside work, protected from weather conditions.
• Exposure to noise where customers must shout to be heard (hearing protection required).
• Exposure to potential hazards such as moving parts, electricity, gas, scaffolding, and chemicals.
• Extended terminal viewing of screens.
• Exposure to atmospheric conditions like fumes, odors, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
• Exposure to oils through air and/or skin contact.
• Physical demands including standing, walking, twisting, stooping, crouching, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, and continuous motion.
• Extended work hours requiring stamina beyond normal demands due to emergency or workload.
