Position Summary
Responsible for performing physical or administrative tasks related to the warehousing of finished goods, including receiving, storing, packaging, inventory management, and cycle counting. Also involved in executing simple shipments through UPS and FedEx.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Execute simple shipments through UPS and FedEx using computerized ERP and internet shipping systems.
- Ensure compliance with all department/company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Process small-parcel, LTL, and FTL shipments using computerized ERP and internet shipping systems.
- Serve as a point of contact for shipping questions related to routine sales orders.
- Pack and process routine sales orders for shipment.
- Maintain accuracy in small-parcel shipments.
- Research and resolve variances in shipments to maintain department accuracy goals.
- Perform material handling and warehouse operations, including picking and packing sales orders, receiving, cycle counting, packaging, and putting away product.
- Load and unload trucks and move materials between departments.
- Identify consolidation potential to maximize warehouse space.
- Absorb and assist in training of new employees.
- Absorb and assist in updating and maintaining accurate computerized and/or manual logs.
- Operate forklift, pallet jack, and/or hand truck.
- Follow material handling techniques, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Absorb and assist in regular clean-up duties.
Education And/Or Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Knowledge of UPS and FedEx shipping processes required.
- Knowledge of LTL BOLs preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems preferred.
- Forklift experience or license preferred.
Language And People Skills
- Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Basic English speaking, reading, and writing skills are required.
- Ability to read, process, and respond to email messages regarding shipments.
- Adapt to production schedule changes and accept constructive feedback.
- Display cross-cultural sensitivity while working in a diverse employee population.
- Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Sit or stand for long periods.
- Manipulate small components with hands and arms.
- Reach with hands and arms, sometimes above or below the shoulders or below the knees.
- Lift and/or move up to 15 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work in an open manufacturing environment.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, industrial chemicals, and vibration.
- May occasionally be subject to higher noise levels.
Work Environment
An employee in this position works in an open manufacturing environment. The employee may be required to work on or around equipment that produces radiant heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, industrial chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, though the employee may occasionally be subject to higher noise levels.
Compensation
Pay Range: $19.50 - $21 per hour
Status: Non-Exempt
