Shipping Clerk Lead

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support daily activities for Shipping Clerks and Shipping Forklift Operators by providing direction, training, and coaching.
• Prioritize workloads and adjust assignments as needed to ensure department efficiency and shipments are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Aid in resolving shipping and receiving issues to minimize delays and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Support daily operations by performing shipping duties and filling in for team members as needed.
• Conduct team meetings, communicate expectations, and share important updates with employees.
• Provide feedback and coaching to support employee development and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments and transportation providers to support daily operations.
• Operate shipping equipment including forklifts, scales, dock locks, and banding equipment.
• Promote a safe work environment by following and encouraging safe work practices.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or a similar role.
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Hands-on experience with warehouse management software.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage changing workloads.
• Basic math skills for weighing, measuring, and verifying shipments.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and computer systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification through Clow.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and handle materials up to 65lbs.
• Frequent bending, reaching, material handling, and part movement.
