Shipping Clerk

About the role

As a Shipping Clerk, you will sort and organize completed prescriptions and prepare product for shipment. This position is with Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy, a long‑term care pharmacy that provides specialized care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the United States. The company originated as part of the independent retail Tarrytown Pharmacy, serving the local community since 1941, and has grown into a multi‑state long‑term care pharmacy solution.

Location: Onsite, in our Boothwyn, PA facility.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST.

Responsibilities

• Sort and organize completed prescriptions.
• Use pharmacy operating software and dispatch/routing software.
• Use a handheld scanner to capture barcode digital information.
• Prepare packages for delivery: print packing lists, inspect for accuracy, stage, and route.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to multi‑task and work with other members of the shipping and distribution team, as well as pharmacists and technicians.
• Understanding of basic production processes for packaging and shipping.
• Ability to develop continuous improvements in the shipping department.
• Basic understanding of, or ability to learn, the locations and organizational structure of the company.
• Ability to correctly sort and distribute large amounts of medications.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Ability to work with little oversight or guidance.
• Must be able to speak and write English.
• Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pulling, speaking, listening; occasional lifting of bulk packaging up to 40 lb; ability to traverse close quarters easily.

Preferred Skills/Abilities

• FedEx shipping / overnight shipping experience is a plus.
• Experience working in a commercial pharmacy is a plus.
