Shipping Clerk

Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy/Greater Boston LTC Pharmacy is a long-term care pharmacy providing specialized care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the United States. Originating from Tarrytown Pharmacy, an independent retail pharmacy serving the local community since 1941, we have grown into a multi-state long-term care pharmacy solution.

About the role

This is an onsite position located in Morton Grove, IL, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5:00PM.

Responsibilities

• Sort and organize completed prescriptions
• Use Pharmacy operating software and Dispatch and Routing software
• Use a handheld scanner to capture barcode digital information
• Prepare packages for delivery: print Packing Lists, inspect for accuracy, stage, and route
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to multi-task and work with the shipping and distribution team, pharmacists, and technicians
• Understanding of basic production processes for packaging and shipping
• Ability to develop continuous improvements in the shipping department
• Basic understanding of, or ability to learn, company locations and organizational structure
• Ability to correctly sort and distribute large amounts of medications
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to complete projects in a timely manner
• Ability to work with little oversight and/or guidance
• Must be able to speak and write English

Preferred Qualifications

• FedEx Shipping / Overnight Shipping Experience
• Experience working in a Commercial Pharmacy

Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pulling, speaking, listening
• Ability to occasionally lift bulk packaging weighing up to 40 pounds
• Ability to traverse close quarters easily
