Responsibilities

• Examine packages and compare with records (manifests, invoices, orders) to verify accuracy of outgoing shipments
• Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials
• Record shipment data including weight, charges, damages, and discrepancies for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping
• Determine shipping methods using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
• Schedule truck shipments using customer portals
• Deliver or route materials to departments using equipment such as handtrucks, conveyors, or sorting bins
• Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools, power tools, and postage meters
• Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to resolve problems such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory
• Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements and issue instructions for shipping and delivery

Schedule
