SHIPPING CLERK

About the role

Description Garden State Growers is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support the efficient processing, preparation, and shipment of live plant products to customers. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately pulling orders, verifying inventory, preparing shipping documentation, coordinating outgoing shipments, and ensuring that all products are packaged and loaded according to company quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders and prepare shipments accurately and on schedule.
• Verify product quantities, varieties, and quality before shipment.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documents, packing slips, bills of lading, and related records.
• Coordinate with production, inventory, and transportation teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
• Inspect shipments for accuracy and report discrepancies or damaged products.
• Label, package, and stage products for shipment according to company procedures.
• Operate shipping equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Communicate with carriers regarding pickup schedules and shipping requirements.
• Ensure shipping areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous shipping, warehouse, logistics, or inventory experience preferred.
• Experience in a greenhouse, horticulture, agricultural, or distribution environment is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and order reports.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory
