Shipping Clerk

Primary Function

Takes reasonable care for their own health and safety.

Assist the Warehouse Manager as needed.

Generate bill of lading for all outbound freight.

Receive incoming freight including stock transfers.

Process packaging.

Process billing.

Process export documents.

Audit freight invoices and reconcile with outside audit service.

Participates in monthly inventories for warehouse.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• 6 months of related experience preferred.

Special Skills

• Ability to understand shipping/loading requirements, weight requirements, customs paperwork, inventory control and customers’ special instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and order forms and checklists.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, surfaces and volume.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Possess basic math skills.
• Computer and Microsoft literate.
• Use of office equipment.

• Standing for as much as 25% of workday.
• Kneeling, stooping, crouching or crawling for as much as 10% of workday.
