Shipping Clerk - 3rd Shift

About the role

A Shipping Clerk must prepare outgoing shipments in compliance with detailed customer requirements. This is on 3rd shift which is from 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Sunday – Thursday. There may be opportunities to work some overtime on weekends. The position will be located at our U.S. Corporate Headquarters location in Gastonia, NC.

Responsibilities

• Pull, label, scan, and post orders according to SAP movement transactions and scanner data.
• Communicate effectively with final assembly in preparation of daily shipments.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment with a strong team focus.
• Work efficiently and productively with limited supervision.
• Email communication of order status with CSRs and warehouse team members is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1-2 years in a fast-paced warehouse environment, 6 months experience and proficiency in order pickers, forklifts, and turret trucks, previous material handling equipment certification preferred.
• Ability to identify customer specific parts and prepare accordingly, strong attention to detail, ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, good attendance record, ability to drive the docking tractor, and back 53' trailers to the docks, strong basic math skills, and ability to communicate well with supervisors and team.
• Willingness to learn other warehouse jobs roles for team support.
• Weekend work and extended shift hours may be required.
• Support of receiving weekend inbound STMX deliveries is required.

Knowledge and Skills

• Warehouse processes, procedures, and safety standards.
• Good computer skills, previous experience with warehouse systems and RF scanners preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory control, FIFO, Cycle Counting, and KAN-BAN principles, knowledge of 5S and Lead Manufacturing Principles.
• Effective communication skills, reasoning ability, mathematical skills, and resourcefulness and initiative.
