Shipping Clerk - 2nd Shift

About the Role

Plan loads to customers based on order quantities, combining them to make multiple-stop deliveries to maximize trailer utilization and minimize costs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up delivery appointments for planned loads
• Set up customer pick-ups
• Cut bills for all loads
• Communicate with logistics on all outbound loads and delivery times
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
li>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Common sense understanding and problem-solving skills
• Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
• Working knowledge of computer data entry, quality standards (ISO and QS), and office equipment
• Understanding of regulatory requirements, including OSHA, DEQ, and EEO

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear
• Occasionally required to use hands, reach with arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to moving equipment in the work area
• Occasional exposure to wet, humid, hot, and cold conditions
• Loud noise levels

Preferred Experience

• Microsoft Excel experience
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator

Schedule

3:30 PM – 11:30 AM, with overtime as needed.
