Shipping Auditor
About the Role
Complete the shipment of the daily shipping schedule in the best timely manner possible. This is accomplished by continually tracking loads that are still in process and keeping the lines of communication open with the departments still needing to handle the windows. The shipping position verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing duties to quality and productivity standards.
Responsibilities
- Helps ensure all shipping paperwork is prepared and organized.
- Ensure system reflects production scheduling & shipment info.
- Audit shipping racks to customer, follow workloads/schedule.
- Work in D365 & Transportation Systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Packs, examines and routes outgoing shipments; rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Supports the shipment of goods produced and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Supports building wood racks as necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in manufacturing and production is preferred.
- Must demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Must be able to maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc.
- Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations.
- Must be able to read and process written communication including measurements, directions, instructions, etc.
- Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day.
- Must be able to work as part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals.
- Must possess successful problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to operate a Lift Truck or Tractor as necessary.
- Must be able to operate appropriate equipment including radios, stabilization devices, tape measures, etc.
- Must be able to physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds.
- Must be able to deal with climate extremes (temperature, precipitation, etc.).
- Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math.
- Must be able to operate a forklift (training available).
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing/industry experience.
- Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory-related experience in shipping.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
- Must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

- Regularly required to talk and hear.
This position requires Personal Protective Equipment. Protective Equipment supplied by the company includes: Safety Glasses and Safety Shoes. Employees may be required to provide additional Protective Equipment.
Schedule
This is a full-time hourly position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.
