Shipping Assistant/Clerk- 2nd Shift

About the role

Primarily responsible for serving as a back‑up/relieve Shipping Clerk; process shipping paperwork; inventory. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Scan and track pallets from production into the cooler.
• Ensure all product is labeled, stacked and wrapped correctly.
• Perform all jobs in the department.
• Work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Complete all tasks assigned by management.
• Follow directions and work in other departments as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsupervised and self‑motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Hatchery or related poultry industry experience.
• Basic math functions and skills.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements.
• Wear required PPE (hairnet, smock, earplugs – subject to change).
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Tolerant of frequent exposure to heat (incubators ~99.5°F).
• Ability to work in wet and dusty environments.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.
• Capable of rolling and pushing buggies (~1,000 lbs.).
• Ability to work around raw, live animal odors.
