Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Tech - 1st Shift
About the role
GroupeSTAHL is a leading international manufacturer, distributor, and direct supplier in the field of custom textile printing. We are looking for a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to manage the shipping and receiving process, oversee stock and warehouse inventory, and perform various other duties as required.
Responsibilities
- Manage the shipping and receiving process including staging, loading/unloading product, and verifying information against bills of landing, invoices, and orders.
- Oversee stock and warehouse inventory, maintaining a computer database in an automated shipping/receiving system and recording keeping for inventory.
- Determine or fulfill customer requests for shipping methods, ensuring timely and accurate input of all freight information using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates; notify carriers and arrange for pickups in a timely manner.
- Prepare shipments using correct containers and proper packing material to ensure proper transportation without damage.
- Verify computer inventory by performing physical inventory counts as needed.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers and vendors to rectify damages and shortages.
- Operate lift trucks and/or hand trucks to move and store equipment and stock, some manual lifting required.
- Develop, implement, and track effectiveness of quality improvement processes.
- Receive and record materials/items received, placing appropriate markings on product with identifying information to ensure accurate customer requisition filling of work (customer) orders.
- Prepare all inventory and stock reports.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Knowledge of shipping/receiving process, routes, and rates; inventory processes and controls.
- Experience in mechanical repairs either by training and/or experience.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong basic math skills with a focus on accuracy and detail orientation.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Experience operating automated shipping systems/inventory management systems.
- Experience with forklift, lift truck, and/or hand truck operation with full knowledge of all safety protocols.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with team leaders and managers.
- Strong organizational skills demonstrated through prior work record.
- Flexible to the demands of the team, department, and company needs as a whole and to the customer.
- Able to handle multiple tasks under the pressure of timelines.
- Able to undertake greater responsibility as business planning may necessitate.
