Shipping and Receiving Operator

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shift forklift inspections and record preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output, and other key metrics; perform mathematical calculations as needed.
• Safely operate a propane sit-down forklift to move raw materials or finished products throughout the manufacturing floor, including:
  • Keeping production lines clear and running.
  • Properly storing product and raw materials.
• Visually inspect material for quality defects; segregate defective product and notify relevant personnel.
• Fill dumpsters from the production floor.
• Maintain housekeeping of the plant (inside and out).
• Work as a team with production and shipping teams to follow all facility Standard Works/processes and improve operations.
• Support the recycling area as needed and help maintain its cleanliness.
• Fill in on other areas of the plant (e.g., Warehouse) as required.
• Assist other forklift operators as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Prior experience operating a propane sit-down forklift or other mobile equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks).
• Demonstrated safe working practices and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a scanner.
• Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
• Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers.
• Ability to learn and operate new equipment.
