GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Loads, unloads, and moves production and non-production materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compares identifying information, and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, and records shortages or overages.
- Routes items to storage, work area, or appropriate individual.
- Moves, conveys, or hoists shipments from receiving area to storage or work areas using material handling equipment.
- Loads and unloads materials to and from vehicles, by hand or using material handling equipment.
- Secures boxes to pallets, and closes box tops using pneumatic staplers, tape, and or stretch wrap machine.
- Stocks machine lines and assembly lines with components and parts necessary for production.
- Maintains accuracy of production component inventory.
- Performs 5S and cleanup activities at designated times.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement activities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience operating a stand-up industrial truck is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to follow and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must have powered industrial truck license. Electric stand-up experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Must have basic PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Windows operation.
- Must be able to function in a team environment by working with, and cooperating with others.
- Good basic math skills, organization skills, and ability to clearly communicate in both written and oral forms with others is necessary.
- Understanding of FIFO (first in/first out) methods.
- Ability to use a computerized inventory control system, BPCS knowledge a plus.
