About the role
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for preparing, tracking, logging, and distributing all incoming and outgoing shipments via Federal Express, UPS, and local delivery (domestic and international).
Responsibilities
- Prepare items for shipment: pack, seal, and label as required.
- Determine method of shipping utilizing knowledge of shipping products, routes, and rates.
- Prepare shipping documents and contact carrier representatives to arrange shipping and delivery.
- Verify and enter records of outgoing shipments in the company ERP system.
- Receive incoming shipments using the company ERP system; verify accuracy of items received.
- Deliver or route materials to all departments using hand truck, delivery cart, or forklift.
- Communicate damages, shortages, or nonconformance to appropriate company personnel.
- Collaborate with multiple internal departments to ensure timely delivery and receipt of packages.
- Maintain required documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Participate in loading and unloading trucks when necessary.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory.
- Barcode new stock or gear.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 or more years of experience in shipping and receiving or related warehouse experience.
- Familiarity with Federal Express and UPS shipping processes.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Ability to compute amounts such as space used, shipping charges, and unit of measure conversions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Forklift certification is a plus.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (word processing and spreadsheets).
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated maturity and judgment.
Physical Working Conditions
- Regularly bend, twist, stretch, push, pull, and lift 50–75 lbs.
- Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Walk up and down stairs or ladders.
- Work in various temperatures and outdoor weather conditions.
- Be available for on-call shifts as needed, including nights and weekends.
- Work extended hours and overtime as required.
