About the role
Nashville Wire Products, an established local manufacturer of steel wire products for the material handling industry, is accepting resumes for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at its Springfield, Tennessee location. This position ensures our products are provided to customers in an efficient and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading trucks with a sit‑down forklift
- Pulling and staging orders
- Cycle counts
- Order verifications
- Pulling and staging orders and loading trailers (majority of time)
- Performing inventory control and bill of lading creation using an ERP such as SAGE (a plus)
- Heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds)
- Standing on concrete floors
- Working in extreme temperatures (manufacturing areas not air conditioned)
Requirements
- Recent steady work history
- Prior experience in all functions of shipping/receiving operations
- Prior experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing shipping environment with limited supervision and a high degree of accuracy
- Prior recent experience loading and unloading trucks with a sit‑down forklift in a fast‑paced manufacturing shipping environment
- Must pass company‑provided drug screen, criminal background check, and tape measure skills test

- Sit‑down forklift operation
- Inventory control and bill of lading preparation
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAGE)
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- High degree of accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Tolerance for extreme temperatures

Pay
Shipping and Receiving Clerk pay progression: $23.50 start, $24.00 at 90 days, $25.00 at 1 year.
Schedule
Base schedule for this position is 5:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday, with additional overtime as required with little to no prior notice to meet customer demands. Double Time incentive is offered for ALL overtime hours worked.
