We are seeking a motivated Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team, ensuring efficient and accurate delivery of products to customers and receipt of raw materials. This role is ideal for a hard-working, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a team environment and is committed to process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Prepare orders for shipment, moving materials within the warehouse to the shipping area.
- Store received materials in assigned warehouse locations.
- Package and prepare materials for shipment, including special handling and paperwork for hazardous materials.
- Prepare shipping documents for domestic and foreign shipments, ensuring proper labeling according to regulations.
- Examine shipments to ensure compliance with internal and external specifications and procedures.
- Count, sort, or weigh incoming goods, verifying receipt against vendor packaging lists.
- Promptly transfer materials to and from production areas, including ERP system and physical inventory transfers.
- Ensure all required documents are present prior to receiving materials.
- Record and check quantity and quality of received goods for conformity to purchase orders/specifications.
- Inspect received goods for damages or discrepancies and report issues immediately.
- Input incoming materials into the system database using a local scanning system.
- Follow procedural guidelines for receiving materials and complete all associated paperwork.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and verify documentation for accuracy.
- Ship packages via mail, messenger, or carriers using internal and external procedures.
- Perform ERP transactions to reflect material and product movement.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of shipping supplies to meet operational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma (or GED equivalent) and at least 2 years of related warehouse/shipping or receiving experience.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficiency with computers, ERP systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office 365.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs frequently, stand for at least 5 hours, and operate forklift/hand truck equipment.
- Previous experience shipping hazardous goods via ground, air, and ocean.
- Hazardous goods certification(s) preferred: DOT, IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR.
- Prior JDE or similar ERP system experience.
- Forklift license preferred.
