About the role
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk controls material entering and leaving CCS. On the inbound side, the position receives, verifies, documents, and routes incoming material to ensure accurate inventory and timely movement to inspection or stock. On the outbound side, the role packages, documents, and ships customer orders to ensure products leave complete, protected, correctly documented, and on schedule. This position covers both functions, with daily focus typically on one side but cross-training on both to ensure coverage during volume spikes or absences. Assignment between inbound and outbound is determined by the Supply Chain Manager or Warehouse Supervisor based on business needs.
This is a key position, as every dollar of material purchased and every dollar of product sold passes through this function. Accuracy here impacts inventory, cost, customer delivery performance, and audit records. The role works across departments, including Accounting, Planning, Maintenance, Quality, and leadership, and requires ongoing learning beyond the dock. Due to the regulated nature of CCS products, the position exercises judgment in verifying documentation, identifying discrepancies, and holding shipments that do not meet quality or export requirements.
