Position Summary
The Packing & Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately packaging, labeling, and shipping aerospace components while ensuring compliance with customer, AS9100, and ITAR requirements. This position works closely with Shipping, Quality, Production, and Planning to ensure on-time, damage-free deliveries and accurate shipping documentation.
Responsibilities
- Pick, verify, package, and prepare aerospace parts for domestic and international shipment.
- Review work orders, packing slips, and customer shipping instructions for accuracy.
- Package products using proper protective materials to prevent shipping damage.
- Generate shipping labels and commercial documentation using UPS, FedEx, DHL, and customer portals.
- Verify quantities, part numbers, revision levels, and certifications before shipment.
- Maintain lot traceability and preserve product identification throughout the shipping process.
- Prepare export documentation when required.
- Coordinate with Quality to ensure Certificates of Conformance (C of C), inspection reports, and customer documentation accompany shipments.
- Perform final visual inspection of packaging before shipment.
- Receive, stage, and organize shipments for carrier pickup.
- Maintain a clean, organized shipping area using 5S principles.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy as needed.
- Support receiving, stockroom, and warehouse activities during peak workloads.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of shipping, packing, or warehouse experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to read packing lists, work orders, and shipping instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality requirements.
- Familiarity with ITAR regulations.
- SAP experience.
- Experience using UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, DHL, or customer shipping portals.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).

- Occasional overtime to meet customer delivery schedules.
Additional Requirements
This position requires access to information and hardware subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations, including U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents, Political Asylees, or Refugees.
