About the role
Based in Arlington, TX the Shipping/Receiving Clerk will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the General Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed.
- Assists with loading and unloading trucks. Schedules truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx as needed.
- Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules.
- Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.
- Bridges any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to supervisor immediately.
- Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer's inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
Qualifications
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Education – High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two year experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs related to function.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally, and effectively answer and manage phone calls.
- Shipping and receiving experience required.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language
Physical & Mental Demands
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone
