About the role
Perform necessary tasks to ensure proper loading, unloading, and storage of materials and finished products. Responsible for the movement of product throughout the plant and for ensuring batches are made according to procedure.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the Special bundling area to create and build bundles of pipe for special shipments
- Read and follow Bill of Ladings to load flatbed trailers of finished pipe for transport to customers in a safe and secure manner per National Pipe requirements
- Check other employees’ loading bills for accuracy before the load leaves the yard
- Take pictures of loads for future verification purposes
- Move finished goods from the production transfer area to the Shipping Yard
- Organize and rotate stock in the yard
- Receive raw material via van loads or flatbed loads and unload in a time-sensitive manner
- Receive warehouse transfers of finished goods, unload from flatbed trailers, and place in the yard for inventory
- Participate in Year End Inventory to accurately count and report all pipe in stock
- Perform other temporary or permanent responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in warehousing
- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift
- Ability to perform basic math skills accurately
- Ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
