Shipping and Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, wrapping machines, and box trucks safely and in compliance with DOT and company policies.
• Perform pre-use equipment inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
• Manage inbound and outbound shipments, including accurate tagging, storage, and rotation of raw materials and finished goods using FIFO/FEFO methods.
• Conduct inventory counts, monitor material usage, and assist with procurement and space management.
• Stage materials to prevent production downtime and return items to designated locations for easy retrieval.
• Handle recyclable materials according to plant processes and deliver daily parcel shipments.
• Communicate warehouse status—including inventory levels, utilization, and upcoming product expirations—to cross-functional teams.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSMA, and company food safety policies; maintain audit-ready cleanliness and report safety or quality concerns promptly.
• Support team members, adapt to operational changes, and contribute to productivity, safety, and quality goals.
• Provide backup coverage, share knowledge, and assist with training and SOP development.
• Use computer systems such as SAP for inventory transfers and reporting; maintain accurate records and participate in improvement projects.
• Actively participate in 5S efforts, assist in reviewing warehouse paperwork, and help develop solutions to operational issues.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 18+ years of age.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications (e.g., forklift, SAP, Train the Trainer).
• Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, box trucks, and familiarity with SAP inventory management systems.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot minor process adjustments and resolve quality irregularities.
• Commitment to food safety regulations including GMPs, SQF, HACCP, and FSMA.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently; stand/walk up to 90% of shift; climb, push, pull, and stoop as needed.
• Near and far visual acuity, some color perception, full range of hand/arm movement, and normal hearing (with correction if needed).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to use hand scanners and perform basic math.

Pay

$25.00 per hour with a $0.50 shift differential for night shifts.

Schedule

• Days: 3/2/2/3 rotating schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (includes weekend rotation)
• Nights: 3/2/2/3 rotating schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (includes weekend rotation)
