About the role
This position reports to the Shop Superintendent. You must work well with others and also have the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate overhead cranes with proper cables or straps according to load requirements.
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift.
- Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools.
- Review shipping papers for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Climb ladders to access truck beds.
- Proper handling of incoming and outgoing products, including identifying damage, weighing of rolls, and staging of rolls.
- Use basic computer skills.
- Apply carpentry skills for building and maintaining roll crates.
- Read a diameter tape and a carpenter’s tape for accurate measurements of rolls as received.
- Perform other maintenance, housekeeping, painting, and miscellaneous tasks as directed by supervision.
- Proficiently perform all tasks safely with or without supervision.
- Complete other assignments as directed by production supervision.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience (manufacturing preferred). On-the-job training will be provided.
- Proficiency in English.

Schedule
