Shipper
About the role
This role involves executing customer order fulfillment, which includes accurately picking products from specified inventory locations, securely packaging items, and preparing shipments for delivery. The position is physically active and demands a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, pack, and process outgoing shipments according to company and customer requirements.
- Verify shipment contents against orders and documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Label and document materials for transport (e.g., bills of lading, shipping orders).
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Cookordination with carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain inventory records and update shipping logs.
- Aid with general warehouse duties, including organizing storage areas and loading/unloading trucks.
Knowledge/Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics (preferably in a manufacturing setting).
- Must be certified or willing to be trained and certified in forklift operation.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service abilities and a collaborative mindset.
- Thrives in team-oriented environments and actively contributes to internal initiatives.
Skills and Abilities
- Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, paired with effective organizational abilities.
- Basic math and computer skills (e.g., shipping software, inventory systems).
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 60 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment.
