Shift Tech, Machinist - Baldwin
Job Summary
The Shift Technician will be primarily assigned to the base crew, with a schedule of M-F Day shift. Shift technicians can also be assigned to the operating shifts and work the same rotating shift schedule as Operations Department employees, which is currently a 12-hour shift rotation, as needed.
Job Description
- Overtime – available for overtime assignments
- Ability to work from heights as required (ladder, scaffolding, skyclimber, etc.)
- Ability to work in confined spaces as required
- Walking, standing, bending, and climbing as required
- Work environment (hot, cold, dusty, noisy, inside building, and outdoor)
- Must be medically qualified to use a respirator at all times
- Successful completion of Machinist Aptitude Test
- Must be clean shaven (face) compliant to OSHA respirator fit standards
- Must be able to successfully pass a POSS/MASS aptitude assessment
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Must be a member of Emergency Response Team
Job Requirements
- Required: Industrial Trade School Certificate-machinist and/or graduate of Military Training School (Form DD-214 required)
- Preferred: Associate in Applied Science - Machinist Course of study to include: Machine Shop geometry, Machinist & Mechanical drawings, Advanced Machine Shop Tools, Precision Machine Shop Tools, Machinery installation, Mechanical power transmission, Couplings, Screw Threads, Bearings, Mechanical fasteners, Machinery alignment
