Shift Team Leader

About the role

The Shift Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing operations within the Ethylene Oxide production unit at Atlas Point. This role requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years of leadership experience in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a shift team of operations and laboratory technicians to achieve safety, quality, and production targets
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, site policies, and process safety requirements
• Maintain a continuous manufacturing environment through monitoring and optimizing unit performance, including throughput, efficiency, energy usage, and waste reduction
• Conduct safety observations, inspections, and audits to identify and correct gaps
• Investigate and document incidents, ensuring timely reporting and root cause analysis
• Troubleshoot operational, process, and equipment issues to maintain reliable production
• Ensure effective utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment
• Oversee safe work permitting processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years in a chemical or manufacturing environment (continuous processing preferred)
• At least 2 years of leadership experience in a production setting
• Knowledge of process operations, equipment, and environmental regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and Aspen systems preferred
• Associate degree in a technical field required
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Chemical Process Operator certification and/or HAZWOPER training is a plus
