About the role
The Shift Supervisor (Team Lead) role is based in (location) and is central to the development of Venchi's retail channel, which includes direct stores in Italy, the UK, and the US, with planned openings nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Create a 'unique Italian welcoming environment' full of warmth and friendliness for customers.
- Support the store manager in managing day-to-day operations, including ensuring the team works effectively and customers are at the heart of everything done.
- Slide between duties such as selling, refilling store needs, visual merchandising, cash handling, employee coaching, processing register transactions, and more.
- Ensure continuous provision of excellent customer experiences that bring joy to their day.
- Manage operational KPIs, assist the store manager with day-to-day priorities, and run the shop in their absence.
- Open and close the store using daily checklists, handle cash, reconcile registers daily, maintain a clean, safe workplace, and adhere to health and safety legislation.
- Encourage clear and engaging communication within the team and upwards, monitor, support, and coach the team to achieve their potential.
- Keep the store manager informed of team and team members' performance, react and adapt to changes, and make timely, thoughtful decisions.
- Ensure consistent delivery of great customer service and adherence to Venchi guidelines and mission statement.
Requirements
- A brief understanding of operational KPIs, including sales, waste, and labor.
- Exceptional customer service and operational standards.
- A growth mindset, always being proactive.
- Quick learning ability and a positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to multitask and think on one's feet.
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends, particularly when the store is busiest.
- A friendly and energetic personality, enjoying working as part of a team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Food Handlers/ServSafe certification required.
