Shift Supervisor-Plywood

About the role

Reporting to the Dry end and Green end Production Superintendents, the Shift Supervisor coordinates the daily activities of production employees in a mill environment. This position plans and assigns work, supervises production lines for safety, product quality, and workflow, and drives improvement for shift performance metrics. The role involves training, motivating, and coaching employees to ensure all company and departmental procedures and expectations are met.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of production employees in a mill environment.
• Plan and assign work to meet production goals.
• Supervise production lines for safety, product quality, and workflow.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to BIC (Best in Class) and continuous improvement.
• Drive improvement for shift performance metrics.
• Train, motivate, and coach employees.
• Ensure compliance with all company and departmental procedures and expectations.

Qualifications

• High school degree required; technical or formal training preferred.
• Two to four years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership experience; knowledge of wood products manufacturing process preferred.
• Strong communication skills at all levels.
• Problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and team-building skills.
• Ability to work well with people and facilitate change and growth in a total quality management environment.
• Computer skills required.
