Description Job Description: SHIFT SUPERVISOR - NIGHT WATCH Time commitment: 40 HOURS PER WEEK FTE: 1.0, SALARY, EXEMPT FROM OVERTIME Reports to: RESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR The Night Watch Shift Supervisor is responsible for the direction of the night-watch mentors as well as the physical safety and security of each student during nighttime hours. They complete direct-care duties as well as train night-watch mentors to meet the needs of the organization. Duties And Responsibilities Orientates and trains new mentorsAttends weekly training meetings on Telos’ policies or procedures with his/her staffCreates rewards and discipline for mentors on shiftGenerates night watch mentor shift assignmentsCoordinates scheduled activities/appointmentsIs trained in medication administration as per Telos’ policies and proceduresAdministers medications as ordered by the doctorCharts in each student’s medical record under mentorAssists/Leads AWOL proceduresSupervises mentors and students in emergenciesPerforms and assists in searches of students upon admission, after off-campus passes, and when AWOL students returnEnforces the Telos security and visitation policies and proceduresProvides training to night watch mentors as needed, but at least once a monthCommunicates and reports to the Residential DirectorPerforms all the responsibilities of a mentorMonitors and maintains boundaries surrounding lights-out and bedtime protocolsEnforces student rules as neededSupports and assists all other Telos departments in various job descriptions (i.e., nursing, general cleaning and maintenance, answering telephones) as allowed by staffing ratiosParticipates in assigned committees or special assignments Restrictions/Prohibitions No sleepingNo apartment abandonmentMust provide your own food or eat snacks set aside for Night WatchOnly one headphone in at a time while on shift Requirements Qualifications: TimelyDependable and reliableMinimum of six months of experience in a behavioral health-related fieldAbility to hold appropriate boundariesAbility to receive feedbackAbility to receive and carry out instructionGenuine care and concern for othersAbility to stay awake and perform duties through the nightExceptional relationship skillsCapacity to train staff
