Responsibilities
- Follow all company personnel and safety policies; perform all assigned duties in a safe work manner.
- Arrive at work in proper uniform and with issued equipment.
- Exercise force up to and including deadly force as required.
- Participate in Guard Mount, receive assigned post, and copy extra instructions.
- Carry out general and special orders for assigned post.
- Communicate via radio, telephone, and orally according to orders.
- Interact and escort public and government personnel as required.
- Provide access control, traffic control, and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned uniform and equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures and government regulations pertaining to security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property, and equipment.
- Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, and facility checks, including package and parcel inspection.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a full-time employee of a civilian law enforcement agency, military police, or government/civilian security guard organization or minimum of two years military experience in specified military occupational specialties involving security, force protection, weapons proficiency, protecting property, maintaining law and order, or protecting lives (e.g., Military Police, Infantry, Special Forces, Security Forces, Communications, War Veteran).
- Honorable discharge (if applicable).
- Diploma or certificate as a graduate of a Federal, State, or local law enforcement agency or military services recognized basic law enforcement or physical security training academy.
- Successfully completed all required training and obtained all necessary permits, licenses, certifications, and security clearances for the site.
- Verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the English language; able to apply written rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training material.
- Meet all Federal, State, or Municipal requirements to work as an Armed Security Guard.
- No record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture during the previous five years.
- Qualify to Navy standards for Pistol and Shotgun.

Physical Requirements
- Maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
- While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical agility test (PAT) and annually thereafter as prescribed by the government: run 1½ miles in 17:30 minutes and complete 19 pushups in 2 minutes.
Work Environment
- Not a temperature-controlled office environment; frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
- Exposure to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
- Occasional performance of mobile patrol duties in a patrol vehicle.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Deputy Security Manager and is responsible for the posting, supervision, and performance of the Security Guard forces of the assigned shift. Carries out all directions and orders issued by the Security Manager and per established Post Orders.
Additional Requirements
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results.
- Obtain and maintain appropriate clearance levels required for the contract and access to military installations.
