Shift Supervisor (FT, Nights)

Connections Health Solutions is a leading provider of immediate-access behavioral health crisis care. Our team combines medical and recovery-oriented treatment to stabilize individuals in crisis and connect them to community-based resources for ongoing recovery. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing operational and administrative oversight of the facility during assigned shifts or within specific units, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered delivery of care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of the assigned unit and shift to ensure the clinical team is operating efficiently, smoothly, and consistently to support high-quality clinical care and outcomes.
• Oversee the operation, organization, and flow of patients through the unit and facility, including delegating work assignments for all disciplines, and supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges to and from the unit.
• Act as the onsite resource for the clinical staff, individuals, family members, or community stakeholders.
• Ensure all clinical staff are following Utilization Management and Revenue Cycle Management guidelines to ensure correct coding and billing of services.
• Manage escalated concerns/problems from internal and external stakeholders.
• Assess and manage barriers that impact flow through the facility.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, all standards of practice, and the requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies.
• Assist with training and orientation of new staff to unit processes and procedures.
• Partner with discipline manager to ensure full orientation to position.
• Utilize de-escalation procedures and theories to assist in providing a safe milieu.
• Partner with clinical and administrative managers to identify and manage performance and behavior issues.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least 5 years’ experience as a direct clinical care provider in Nursing, Social Services, Administrative or Milieu support (BHS/RSS)
• QMHP Credential
• 2 years of leadership experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to encourage cross-functional and multi-disciplinary partnership
• Working understanding of utilization management and revenue cycle management in the behavioral health setting
• Mandatory vaccination policy compliance
• State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance
• Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background check
• Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) Office of Background Investigations - Central Registry Search
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card for the State of Virginia (BHS/RSS positions)

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of clinical work experience in a crisis behavioral health setting
• 3 years of leadership experience
• Ability to perform Safe Clinch restraint technique

Pay

Actual compensation is based on relevant experience, education, internal equity, and budget. Virginia pay range $35.50 - $40 USD
