Primary Duties
- Provides direction and oversight for day-to-day program operations, and management, coordination and scheduling of all daily services including laundry, showers, chores, and token distribution.
- Oversees the scheduling and coordination of all supportive services, and ensures guest participation in supportive services, including but not limited to life skills, job readiness, and parenting classes.
- Safeguards the welfare, safety and comfort of guests, volunteers, visitors and staff by communicating guest expectations and conducting internal and external perimeter checks during shift.
- Directly supervises Program Assistant staff, conducts regular and as needed supervision meetings, offers direction and guidance to Program Assistants regarding conflict resolution strategies and crisis intervention as needed during work shift.
- Aids in new guest intakes, room assignments, orientations, and HMIS system preparations; also assists with move out processes for exiting guests.
- Enrolls school-aged children into school within 48 hours of admission, arranges for school supplies, uniforms, and transportation, and monitors nightly attendance.
- Maintains HMIS system records for bed utilization and unexcused absences, and follows up on behavior concerns or issues observed during the shift.
Secondary Duties
- Collaborates with the Case Manager in managing mental health crises and other guest 'crisis' situations, and tracks attendance at mandatory orientation and training sessions for shift monitors and Program Assistants.
- Enters attendance and participation data in the Baltimore County HMIS system for guest services and classes.
- Promotes a caring environment among guests, volunteers, and staff according to St. Vincent de Paul's core values.
- In the absence of the Director or Assistant Director, makes operational and guest conduct decisions.
- Stays awake and alert during duty hours, and assists with and attends special events and external meetings as necessary.
