Shift Supervisor

Responsible for

• Oversight of all mining operations during assigned shifts
• Ensuring safety compliance and adherence to safety protocols and regulations
• Cooking and mentoring staff on operational procedures and safety measures
• Monitoring equipment performance and addressing any issues promptly
• Reporting on shift activities, including production metrics and safety incidents
• Collaborating with maintenance team to schedule repairs and maintenance activities
• Implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures
• Conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
• Addressing personnel issues or conflicts within the shift team
• Managing employee performance and adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures
• Ensuring training meets current and future needs of the mine
• Responsible for hiring, evaluation, commendation, training, disciplinary action, and dismissals regarding supervised staff
• Complying with daily, weekly, and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures
• Maintaining confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information
• Working in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations

Qualifications

• Education: None
• Experience: 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ability to multitask and work effectively, ability to safely use and handle a variety of tools, equipment, and materials, ability to read and understand engineering prints (civil work, structural work, rock excavation work), ability to work as part of a project planning team, previous quality experience, MSHA Underground miner training would be considered an asset, underground mining experience, knowledge of applicable mine regulations pertaining to construction in mining, ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Other Requirements: Ability to pass background clearance check, drug screening and physical, ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, ability to prepare written reports and correspondence, ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision, high level of attention to detail, neatness, and accuracy, ability to work both independently and collaboratively
