Nexus Family Healing is seeking a Shift Supervisor for our Baltimore, MD location to lead a team of direct care professionals in creating a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for residents.
About the Role
As a Shift Supervisor, you will provide hands-on leadership, oversee daily program operations, mentor staff, and play a vital role in crisis intervention, resident care, and treatment plan support. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily program operations, ensuring the safety and security of residents, staff, and the facility.
- Provide leadership and direction to direct care staff, ensuring adequate coverage, resident supervision, and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Respond to resident incidents, crises, and emergencies using therapeutic intervention and de-escalation techniques; complete required documentation and reporting.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and therapeutic environment by ensuring compliance with health, safety, medication, and confidentiality standards.
- Train, coach, and support staff development, including onboarding, performance feedback, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with treatment teams to support resident treatment plans, monitor resident well-being, and communicate concerns requiring intervention.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including incident reports, resident files, and shift communications.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent credits.
- 2 years of full-time experience in residential care.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements.
- Must successfully complete Safe Crisis Management behavior intervention method training and exam.
- Must pass a CJIS background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of supervisory experience.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of residents.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (2-4 hours).
- Must be able to twist, bend, and stretch to execute daily activities within a residential treatment facility.
Schedule
Full-time, on-site opportunity. Sunday - Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
Pay
$24.00 - $25.00 per hour.
